Job summary

Coast Community College District seeks part-time faculty to provide instruction in accordance with established curricula across its three colleges. The pool operates on an as-needed basis, with review by the College Dean/Hiring Manager.

Regular attendance is essential, and positions require meeting federal and state employment eligibility criteria. The district emphasizes diversity, equity, and inclusion and encourages applications from individuals who support student learning and success.

Qualifications

• Must meet one of the following qualifications under (a) through (d): a) valid California Community College instructor credential; b) Master's degree in health science, health education, biology, nursing, PE, kinesiology, exercise science, dietetics, or nutrition; c) Bachelor's in health science, health education, biology, nursing, physical education, kinesiology, exercise science, dietetics, or nutrition AND a Master\'s in public health or a biological science; d) equivalency.
• Evidence of sensitivity to, understanding of, and ability to manage diverse classroom environments and effectively instruct diverse student populations.

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction in accordance with established curriculum and course outlines.
• Maintain professional conduct and ethics.
• Maintain current knowledge in subject matter areas.
• Fulfill professional responsibilities of a part-time/temporary faculty member.
• Teach all scheduled classes.
• Maintain accurate records.
• Assignments may include day, evening, weekend, online and/or off-campus classes.
