Job summary

The Coast Community College District seeks part-time faculty across its colleges to provide instruction in accordance with established curricula while maintaining professional standards. Positions are contingent on verification of eligibility to work in the United States and are filled on an as-needed basis for day, evening, weekend, online or off-campus classes.

Applicants should have appropriate California community college credentials or an equivalent combination of education and experience;

Qualifications

• Must meet one of the qualifications under (a) through (d).
• Evidence of sensitivity to, understanding of, and the ability to manage the classroom environment for diverse student backgrounds.
• Recent community college teaching experience is desirable.
• Expertise in field of course(s) to be taught is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction in accordance with established curriculum and course outlines.
• Maintain appropriate standards of professional conduct and ethics.
• Maintain current knowledge in the subject matter areas.
• Fulfill professional responsibilities of a part‑time/temporary faculty member.
• Teach all scheduled classes.
• Maintain accurate records.
• Assignments may include day, evening, weekend, online and/or off‑campus classes.
