Job summary

San Jacinto College Central is seeking a Part-Time Faculty member to teach Fire Protection Technology related course work. Instructors are hired on an as-needed basis and may work for the duration of time specified by the respective course, including evening classes and possibly weekend classes.

These positions are not current vacancies. Part-time faculty are not entitled to all rights, privileges, and benefits of regular full-time employees, and assignments are made by the needs of the College

Qualifications

• Minimum of three (3) years firefighting experience with a full-time career fire department.
• Current Texas Commission on Fire Protection Basic Firefighter and Instructor I certifications (or higher level certifications).

Teaching Fire Protection Technology related course work.

Applications for part-time faculty positions are accepted on a continuous basis and reviewed if openings become available. These positions are not current vacancies. Instructors employed as part-time faculty are not entitled to all the rights, privileges, and benefits of regular, full-time employees. Part-time faculty are hired on an \"as needed\" basis and will work for the duration of time specified by the respective course. A portion of teaching assignment may be evening classes and possibly weekend classes. Faculty are assigned to teach courses using various delivery methods based on the teaching area and the needs of students and the College, which may require a physical presence at the assigned on-site work location.

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum of three (3) years firefighting experience with a full-time career fire department
• Current Texas Commission on Fire Protection Basic Firefighter and Instructor I certifications (or higher level certifications).

Preferred Qualifications:

• Additional certifications and/or specialized training and experience.

Salary Grade:

AH
