• State license/certification plus NABCEP registration for Solar PV and Solar Heating
• Demonstrated sensitivity to diverse backgrounds of community college students (AB 1725, 87360a)

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction in accordance with Imperial Valley College curriculum and course outlines; teach as assigned based on class needs.
• Prepare classes, conduct instruction, evaluate students, develop syllabi, and assess learning outcomes.
• Maintain and submit records on deadlines (grades, syllabi, attendance).
• Uphold professional conduct and ethics appropriate to the role.
• Advise students on academic matters and maintain competency in the field.

Representative Duties

Under the direction of the appropriate Dean, this position is a part‑time temporary instructional faculty assignment. This role is best suited for an exceptionally motivated candidate who demonstrates genuine interest in engaging with a diverse student body and possesses a deep‑stated passion for fostering academic growth and knowledge. Your commitment to creating an environment that actively promotes diversity and inclusion will be a fundamental cornerstone in this role. This position provides a unique chance to leave a lasting impact on our diverse academic community.

BASIC FUNCTIONS:

• Provide instruction in accordance with approved Imperial Valley College curriculum and established course outlines and as assigned based on the needs of the college. E
• Assignments are based upon availability of classes, seniority, and qualifications not limited to conducting classes, class preparation, student evaluation, course syllabus, assessing and evaluating student learning outcomes, and other related duties. E
• Maintain and submit accurate records according to published deadlines (i.e., grades, syllabi, attendance reports). E
• Responsibilities also include maintaining standards of professional conduct and ethics appropriate to the professional position. E
• Advise students on academic matters. E
• Maintain competency in the field. E

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's of Science in a related field AND at least two (2) years of direct work experience in Electrical Technology or Alternative/Renewable Energy Technology; or equivalent
• Associate's of Science in a related field AND at least six (6) years of direct work experience as described in Electrical Technology or Alternative/Renewable Energy Technology; or equivalent
• Possess a State of California C-10 Electrical Contractor's License or an Electrical Certification by the National Center for Construction Education and Research AND Possess a registration by the North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners (NABCEP) in Solar Photovoltaic and Solar Heating.
• AND Sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic socio-economic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students (AB 1725, 87360a).
