The Department of Communication and Media Studies at Fordham University seek experienced, qualified instructors to undertake teaching and related duties across our undergradute and Masters programs:
Teaching takes place in person at the university’s Rose Hill campus (Bronx) or Lincoln Center (Manhattan). In most cases a pre-existing syllabus is available for use by instructors. In the majority of cases, classes meet twice a week for 75 minutes. Some evening classes and production classes meet once a week for 2.5 hours. In addition to this class time, instructors are required to hold regular weekly office hours (which can be held remotely). Class enrollment sizes typically range from 15-35 students.
Part-Time faculty at Fordham University are represented by Fordham Faculty United, part of the SEIU Union. A collective bargaining agreement between FFU and Fordham University is in place and can be viewed here.
Qualified applicants will have (as a minimum) a Masters in a cognate subject and will ideally hold a PhD (or be enrolled in a PhD program) in a relevant field. We also typically require that instructors join us with a minimum of two years relevant teaching experience in higher education.
