Job summary

Great Miami Valley YMCA is seeking a Custodian in Fairfield, OH. This part-time, non-exempt role involves cleaning, sanitizing, and maintaining the facility, including mopping, dusting, and trash removal. You will also handle window washing, room setup, and light maintenance under supervision.

The position is 15 hours per week with three-hour shifts, five days a week, requiring height/physical mobility and the ability to work independently with basic Excel and other light administrative tasks.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
• Six months or more of related experience preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents.
• Ability to report and record maintenance requests.
• Knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment.
• Knowledge of basic computer skills including Microsoft Excel.
• Basic understanding of the upkeep and care of equipment.
• Understanding of cleaning compounds and chemicals, and their safe, efficient use.

Responsibilities

• Under the direction of the Executive Director, the Custodian is responsible for cleaning and sanitizing assigned areas, including mopping, dusting, and trash removal.
• Complete duties related to window washing, room set up, groundskeeping, light maintenance, and other related responsibilities.
• Perform daily walkthroughs of the facility and ensure the building is clean, attractive, and safe.
• Operate related equipment and report repairs or hazardous conditions to supervision.
• Restock soap, paper towels, and other supplies and maintain cleaning supply logs.
• Assist with room setup as assigned by supervisor.
