Job summary

Bgparks is seeking a part-time Building Custodian at Alcott Center & Community Arts Center in Buffalo Grove, IL. The role requires evenings and weekend availability to maintain the facility and support events.

The candidate should have a high school diploma and at least two years in custodial operations, with the ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Wage ranges from $16 to $21 per hour, depending on experience. This is a part-time, non-exempt position.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of two years’ experience in custodial operations or related field.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds frequently.

Responsibilities

• Assist facility patrons as required.
• Maintain grounds, classrooms, offices, theater and service areas per cleaning standards and safety practices during shifts.
• Regularly clean windows, toilets, tables, chairs, light fixtures and walls; dispose of garbage and recycle as policy.
• Maintain carpeted and hard surface floors (vacuuming, cleaning, striping, mopping, waxing, polishing, dusting).
• Set up tables, chairs and equipment for events, rentals or programs.
• Assist in inventorying and storing cleaning supplies and janitorial equipment.
• Help prevent accidents by reporting hazards to supervisor.
• Monitor heating/cooling units to maintain temperatures and efficiency.
• Follow opening/closing procedures for building security.
• Be the on-site contact for rentals check-in/out and assistance.
• Participate in snow removal operations at the facility.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
