Job summary

Carson City Public Works Department is seeking a part-time custodian to perform custodial duties and related maintenance. The position is not to exceed 1,039 hours per fiscal year, July 1 through June 30, with a swing shift of approximately 14–20 hours per week from 4:30 p.m. to 1:00 a.m.

The role requires a high school education or GED; professional cleaning or hospitality experience is helpful. Will work evenings, on-call and weekends as required, with duties including setup, cleaning,

Qualifications

• Equivalent to a High School education or GED
• Professional cleaning experience is helpful
• Hospitality industry experience is helpful

Responsibilities

• Move and arrange furniture and A/V equipment to set up rooms for meetings and special functions.
• Clean and sanitize floors, restrooms, auditorium floors, seats, windows, fixtures, mirrors and carpets. Empties trash and stocks supplies, etc.
• Operate cleaning equipment such as vacuums, floor machines, buffers and carpet extractors.
• Remove litter and debris from facility walkways and grounds.
• Provide customer service and supervise/secure the facility.
• Drive City vehicles to work sites, transport materials and assist other staff as required.
