Job summary

City of Cape Girardeau is seeking a Facility Attendant for the SportsPlex to welcome patrons and ensure they have a fun, safe and quality experience. The role requires maintaining a courteous on-stage attitude with customers in person and by phone, while handling admissions cash and memberships.

You will oversee the use of courts, turf, rooms and lobby, enforce facility rules, provide directions, and help with setup, safety, and incident reporting as part of daily operations.

Qualifications

• Experience in providing quality customer service, good judgement and attention to detail in the work environment.
• Strong cash handling and accounting skills is desired.

Responsibilities

• Maintains a courteous and positive attitude with in-person and phone customers.
• Handles cash and accounts for admissions to facility for use of courts and turf.
• Provides for equipment checkout.
• Generates new patron memberships through the computer system.
• Provides information on programs, tournaments and events registrations.
• Oversee the proper use of the courts, turf, meeting rooms, restrooms, lobby.
• Enforcement of all rules and policies of the SportsPlex.
• Provides directions to local attractions, restaurants, hotels and other points of interest.
• Ensure the facility is clean and free of debris including exterior entryway, gym, turf, restrooms, lobby, dining area and meeting rooms.
• Assist with court/turf set-ups and take downs and other duties assigned by supervisor or facility manager.
• Provides for the safety of guests and documents incidents, handles emergencies as they arise and ensures proper usage of equipment.
• Responsible for all reports, admissions and revenue while on duty.
• Provides accurate information and reporting to supervisor and other team members.

• The Facility Attendant is the lead customer service representative who ensures patrons and guests are welcomed to the SportsPlex and have a memorable, fun, safe and quality experience while in our facility.

Essential Functions

• Maintains an “on stage” courteous and positive attitude both in person and with phone customers.
• Handles cash and accounts for admissions to facility for use of courts and turf. Certain exceptions may apply during tournaments or practice.
• Provides for equipment checkout.
• Generates new patron memberships through the computer system.
• Provides accurate information on program, tournament and event communications and registrations.
• Oversee the proper use of the courts, turf, meeting rooms, restrooms, and lobby.
• Enforcement of all rules and policies of the SportsPlex.
• Provides directions to local attractions, restaurants, hotels and other points of interest.
• Ensure the facility is clean and free of debris including exterior entryway, gym, turf, restrooms, lobby, dining area and meeting rooms.
