Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2+ years of general facilities/maintenance experience.
• Basic familiarity with common IT software and hardware setup (Microsoft, Windows/Mac, Apple devices, networking, printers).
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record, reliable transportation for travel between sites.
• Ability to bend and lift minimum of 50 lbs, climb ladders, and work in varied physical conditions.
• Strong communication skills; comfortable interacting with staff, tenants, and vendors.
• Discretion and professionalism appropriate to a hospice environment.
• Computer skills - Knowledgeable and capable in utilizing email, calendars, and spreadsheets.
• Organization and Time Management – Ability to prioritize and follow up efficiently and effectively.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance across all five properties to ensure proper facility function and safety.
• Coordinate repairs that require outside assistance or a licensed professional, ensuring work meets expectations; report concerns to Director of Operations.
• Complete minor repairs (drywall patching, painting, fixture replacement, furniture assembly/repair).
• Coordinate access for outside vendors/contractors for larger repairs (HVAC, electrical, roofing, pest control).
• Ensure life-safety systems are monitored and logs maintained in collaboration with relevant teams.
• Maintain grounds, parking lots, and exterior building appearance; coordinate landscaping contractors.
• Serve as backup for tenant maintenance requests at the Bulverde building and document requests separately.
• Set up and tear down furniture/equipment for events and trainings.
• Maintain inventory of equipment and tools; keep storage areas organized.
• Track work orders and completed maintenance in a log/software; obtain bids for larger projects.
• Assist with IT setup for new hires; deactivate for staff departures with IT vendor; HR backup for this task.
• Support basic AV setup for meetings/trainings and printer/copier upkeep.
• Troubleshoot minor hardware/software/connectivity issues; act as on-site contact for outsourced IT vendor.
