Job summary

The Park District of Oak Park is seeking a Swim Instructor for a part-time role at Ridgeland Common Recreation Complex in Oak Park, IL. You will teach Swim Academy classes, model proper technique, and ensure a safe, welcoming environment for participants.

Responsibilities include following lesson plans, maintaining attendance, and delivering high-quality instruction with strong communication and customer service.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years old.
• Able to tread water and perform 30 seconds survival float; swim 25 yards with good form.
• CPR/First Aid/AED certification within 1 month of employment.

Responsibilities

• Follow Swim Academy lesson plans and teach high-quality swimming techniques.
• Provide a safe, positive learning environment and excellent customer service.
• Attend pre-season trainings and maintain attendance records for each class.
• Communicate effectively with participants, parents and staff.
• Monitor skill progression and complete end-of-session evaluations.
