Job summary

The Salvation Army Alton IL Corps is seeking a Custodian to oversee general maintenance and custodial duties at the 360 Life Center building and grounds under the Site Administrator. This part-time role offers 27 hours per week at $15.00 per hour, with responsibilities including cleaning, minor repairs, grounds maintenance, and ensuring a safe, welcoming environment for church programs and visitors.

• High School Diploma or GED with one year related work experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform housekeeping duties including dusting, window washing, cleaning restrooms, trash removal, vacuuming, and basic carpet care.
• Make small repairs (e.g., replace light switches/ballasts, faucets, doorknobs) and report major repairs to the Site Administrator.
• Maintain Corps grounds including yard work, trash removal, snow removal, lawn mowing, and outside repairs.
• Keep maintenance rooms clean and organized; complete inventory for Corps furniture and supplies.
• Prepare rooms for Corps programs and meetings; participate in team training when needed.
• Maintain confidentiality and appropriate boundaries with clients and staff; uphold Safe From Harm guidelines.
