Job summary

Fortis Native Group invites applications for part-time custodian positions on our Athens, Georgia contract. Successful candidates will join a team responsible for cleaning facilities on-site at the Fort Valley USARC, with duties including bathroom sanitation, dusting, flooring care and setting up spaces for meetings.

Required is a high school diploma or equivalent and at least one year of related experience.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• 1 year of experience in a similar role is preferred.
• Must be able to move, carry and store items as part of daily tasks.
• Must be able to walk, stand, kneel, reach and perform cleaning duties.
• Must be able to comprehend and follow instructions; ability to work with a team.
• Must be reliable and willing to perform assigned daily tasks.

Responsibilities

• Report to Custodian Leadership and perform assigned duties.
• Clean, sanitize and maintain bathrooms using specified procedures and products.
• Dust, polish and wipe furniture; vacuum floors with appropriate equipment.
• Empty and wash garbage bins and manage recycling when needed.
• Support setup of facilities for meetings, events or classrooms.
• Operate and maintain power equipment safely; secure buildings when not in use.
