Birchwood Construction in Harbor Springs is seeking a dependable part-time facilities assistant to keep our campus clean, organized, and well maintained. The role covers 8 buildings across ~2 acres and involves light repairs, basic upkeep, and coordinating contractors.

You will work weekday afternoons through 5 pm, perform routine tasks, organize storage areas, and help keep indoor and outdoor spaces safe and presentable.

Qualifications

• Dependable and able to work weekday afternoons through 5 pm.
• Handy and comfortable performing basic repairs and maintenance.
• Able to work independently and recognize what needs to be done.
• Takes pride in keeping things clean and organized.
• Able to safely use basic hand and power tools.
• Able to perform the physical requirements of the position, including lifting, bending, and standing.

Responsibilities

• Minor repairs and basic handyman type projects.
• Changing light bulbs, filters, batteries, and other routine items.
• Organizing and cleaning up of warehouse, storage areas, parking lot, garden.
• Checking buildings and property for maintenance or safety concerns.
• Putting away deliveries of construction materials, furniture, tools, and equipment.
• Operating forklift to unload/load deliveries.
• Picking up items from suppliers.
• Upkeep of vehicle fleet (fuel, washing, maintenance).
• Winter maintenance: shoveling and applying salt/ice melt on walkways.
• Coordinate access for outside contractors when needed.
• Other duties as assigned.

We are looking for a dependable, hands‑on part‑time facilities assistant to help keep our Harbor Springs campus clean, organized, sage, and well maintained. Our campus includes 8 buildings across approximately 2 acres. This is a great position for someone who enjoys staying busy, working independently, fixing little things, and taking pride in keeping our property looking its best.

This is not a skilled trades position. Electrical, HVAC, plumbing, lawn care, and snow removal are handled by our contracted professionals. We need someone to help take care of the day‑to‑day items.

What You'll Be Doing
