Responsibilities

• Uses knowledge of child growth and development in Head Start classrooms.
• Maintains a child-centered curriculum and learning environment.
• Plans and implements learning experiences to advance literacy, numeracy, language and social skills.
• Addresses challenging behaviors by observing causes and teaching new skills, partnering with families.
• Uses observations and notes to document progress and tailor curriculum.
• Encourages family involvement and develops relationships between children and families.
• Establishes and maintains a safe and healthy learning environment.
• Supports social and emotional development and communicates with stakeholders.
• Participates in meetings, events and trainings as required.
