Job summary

Acelero Learning, Inc. in Racine, Wisconsin is seeking an Extended Day Teacher for part-time hours (2pm–6pm) to support early childhood education within a Head Start program.

You’ll work closely with another teacher and a team of assistants and families to implement a child-centered curriculum and create a positive learning environment. Responsibilities include planning developmentally appropriate activities, observing and documenting progress, addressing challenging behaviors, and coordinating

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; CDA or advanced degree preferred.
• Background checks and physical examination required for this position.
• Experience in Head Start or early childhood education preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with teachers to run a classroom of children in a Head Start program.
• Maintain a child-centered curriculum and learning environment.
• Plan and implement learning experiences to develop literacy, numeracy, language and social skills.
• Observe, document progress and use anecdotal notes to tailor curriculum.
• Support families and involve them in their child’s learning.
• Maintain a safe and healthy learning environment and communicate with stakeholders.
