BEST Crowd Management is hiring a Security Officer for the BJCC in Birmingham, AL. This part-time role blends event staff duties with security responsibilities to ensure a safe and welcoming environment for attendees.

The ideal candidate is at least 18, holds a high school diploma or equivalent, and can pass background and drug screening. Flexible availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays is preferred.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years old and eligible to work.
• Hold a high school diploma or equivalent (some college preferred).
• Previous experience in event security or related field is advantageous.
• Maintain strong physical fitness and ability to stand/walk for long periods.
• Exhibit observational and problem-solving skills.
• Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Work well in a team and collaborate with diverse staff.
• Be flexible to work evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Possess a valid security license or be willing to obtain one where required.
• Pass a background check and drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Assist with event setup, including equipment, signage and materials.
• Monitor access points and conduct security checks for attendee safety.
• Provide friendly customer service with inquiries and directions.
• Collaborate with event staff and security to maintain safety and order.
• Assist in crowd management and flow control at entry/exit points.
• Respond to incidents or emergencies following established protocols.
• Monitor areas to enforce rules and safety procedures.
• Resolve attendee complaints in a calm, professional manner.
• Adhere to company policies to deliver high standards of service and security.
