Job summary

The position requires MLS/MLIS or degree completion within six months and experience in library services; LMS experience (Moodle/Canvas/Blackboard) is preferred. Salary is $36.55/hr under the MCCC contract.

Qualifications

• MLS/MLIS or degree completion expected within six months from an ALA-accredited institution.
• Experience in academic or public library services.
• Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively with diverse populations in an inclusive academic environment.
• Experience with information literacy instruction (group) preferred.
• Experience with LMS platforms (Moodle/Canvas/Blackboard) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-person and online reference and research services to students, faculty, staff, and community members.
• Assist patrons with using library resources including the online catalog, discovery tools and article databases, and locating print sources.
• Teach classes in research strategies, information ethics, and resource analysis with daytime instructional program.
• Collaborate with the other librarians on collection development.
• Oversee the library closing.
• Participate in library outreach, programming, and student engagement as needed.
• Support departmental needs including backing up the evening library assistant with circulation and IDs.
