Goodwill of Central and Southern Indiana (GCSI) is seeking a part-time janitor to keep offices and facilities clean, safe, and welcoming. This role supports federal government facility contracts under the AbilityOne program, performing routine cleaning of offices, restrooms, lobbies, and hallways.

This janitorial position at Goodwill of Central and Southern Indiana (GCSI) is a result of the AbilityOne program in partnership with GCSI and the federal government to provide healthy operations and environments at local federal facilities. The AbilityOne program is one of the largest sources of employment in the United States for people who are blind or have significant disabilities. GCSI is one of about 500 non‑profit organizations that provides employment opportunities in competitive, integrated environments at federal government locations. The Janitor keeps the premises of the office building or other commercial or institutional buildings in a clean and orderly condition. Cleans office areas, courtrooms, hallways, lobbies, breakrooms/cafeterias, restrooms, elevators, stairways, locker rooms, and other assigned work areas.

Moderate to Hard Physical Work - is regularly required to walk and frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch and must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Can manage frequent exposure to dust, dirt, debris, and dust particles in the air. Will be regularly exposed to slippery floors and moving mechanical parts of floor cleaning equipment. The noise level is generally low.
Visual Acuity - Has close and distance vision abilities and is able to adjust focus.

Governmental Contract Responsibilities - Goodwill’s Commercial Services division holds contracts for cleaning services at some federal government buildings.
