Job summary

The Behavioral Wellness Center at MPAC in Philadelphia is seeking dependable Behavioral Health Technicians (BHTs) to join our Older Adult Behavioral Health Program. This part-time evening role offers 16 hours per week, 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM, with one weekday shift and every other weekend.

You will assist with daily living, monitor behaviors, and support a structured residential environment. Qualified candidates have a background in behavioral health or human services; CPR certification is required

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Human Services or a related field, or HS diploma with two years direct care experience.
• 12+ college credits in Human Services or related field preferred.
• Experience in behavioral health, residential treatment, or addiction services preferred.
• CPR certification required.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care and behavioral support to residents.
• Assist with activities of daily living, including hygiene, meals, and mobility.
• Monitor resident behavior and report changes in condition to nursing and clinical staff.
• Support therapeutic, recreational, and group activities.
• Apply de-escalation and trauma-informed care techniques during behavioral incidents.
• Document observations, interactions, and care activities in the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
• Reinforce individualized treatment plans and behavioral goals.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and structured residential environment.
• Accompany residents to appointments, activities, and meetings as needed.
• Conduct routine rounds and assist with daily unit operations.
• Communicate effectively with nursing staff, clinical professionals, and other team members.
• Follow safety procedures, confidentiality requirements, and organizational policies.
