Job summary

Southern Avenue Charter School of Academic Excellence is seeking a Part-Time ESL Teacher to provide ESL instruction and language support to English Learner students. The role requires 2 hours of daily instruction and collaboration with classroom teachers and school administration.

The ideal candidate holds a Tennessee teaching license with an ESL endorsement and an active TN PULSE account; experience with English Learners is preferred.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid Tennessee teaching license.
• Must have an ESL endorsement on the Tennessee teaching license.
• Active TN PULSE account required.
• Previous experience with English Learners/ESL students preferred.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide ESL instruction to identified English Learner students.
• Develop language-development lessons based on proficiency levels.
• Support listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills in English.
• Monitor EL student progress and maintain documentation.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers to support EL students.
• Communicate with families regarding student progress when appropriate.
