Job summary

New American Pathways seeks an Part-time ESL Instructor to deliver in-person group ESL classes aligned with workforce development curricula for adult learners. The role includes monitoring progress, maintaining attendance, and conducting quarterly level completion exams.

Collaborate with the Adult Education Coordinator and Job Coach to enroll clients, implement instruction, and use Cambridge One for progress tracking.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in education or related field; at least 2 years of ESL experience teaching adults.
• Passion for helping learners at all language levels.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Ability to provide guidance, support and feedback to learners.
• Excellent organizational, classroom and time-management skills.
• Experience working as part of a team in a diverse, multicultural environment.
• Proven written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Adult Education Coordinator and Job Coach on client enrollment, implementation and delivery of ESL instruction on workforce development topics.
• Teach literacy to advanced-level adult ESL learners using textbooks and digital materials.
• Assign tasks and track progress via a Cambridge One teacher account.
• Conduct exams, grade submissions, and place learners in relevant classes upon each level's completion; maintain attendance records.
• Liaise with relevant staff regarding a student’s performance and progress.
• Other duties as assigned.
