Job summary

Martin Marietta is seeking energized individuals to join our Cedar Rapids Quarry team in Cedar Rapids, IA. This role focuses on operating a haul truck within a limestone quarry and supporting essential mining operations.

The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, 1+ years of related experience, and a valid US driver’s license. Training on MSHA regulations and safe operation will be provided on the job.

Responsibilities

• Operate a variety of off-road haul trucks and other mining equipment as assigned.
• Perform daily inspections of vehicle and work area.
• Observe signals during vehicle operation.
• Perform routine inspection and preventive maintenance on equipment, and clean it.
• Assist with plant maintenance and repairs as needed.
• Fulfill other mining-related duties as required.
• Operate assigned equipment and daily tasks as directed.

Martin Marietta is currently looking for energized individuals to join our team at our open pit limestone quarry in our Cedar Rapids Quarry, IA. This position would be responsible for operating a haul truck.

Essential Responsibilities

• Responsible for operating a variety of off-road haul trucks and other equipment utilized in mining which could include loaders, skid loaders, etc.
• Perform daily inspection of vehicle and work area assigned
• Observe visual and auditory signals during vehicle operation
• Perform routine inspection and preventive maintenance on assigned equipment, clean equipment
• Assist on plant maintenance and repairs as needed
• Other mining related duties as required
• Operating any of our equipment and any daily work assigned

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience:

• High school diploma, GED or equivalent
• 1+ years of related experience
• Valid US driver’s license

Skills

• Ability to work with minimal supervision
• Knowledge of MSHA regulations
• Effective verbal communication
• Knowledge of machines and tools including their design, use and maintenance

Physical Abilities

Ability to work in an outdoor environment year-round

General physical activities include climbing stairs and ladders, lifting, pushing, pulling, stooping, reach with hands and arms, and handling material
