Job summary

U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs in Des Moines, IA seeks a Part-time Housekeeping Aid/Environmental Services Technician to maintain VA facilities for Veterans and their families.

You will perform a full range of light and heavy cleaning duties, address spills, discard trash, and clean wards, patient rooms, offices, and restrooms. Work Saturdays and Sundays, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM, with indoor duties and some outdoor exposure.

Qualifications

• Evidence of training or experience demonstrating ability to perform duties must be on the resume.

Responsibilities

• Maintain VA facilities for Veterans and their families.
• Work alongside other Veterans as EMS staff.
• Perform a full range of light and heavy cleaning duties and routine housekeeping duties.
• Address spills quickly, discard trash, and maintain clean patient areas.
• Clean wards, patient rooms, storerooms, offices, corridors, restrooms, and showers.
• Make beds, sweep, mop, scrub floors, vacuum carpets and upholstery, and clean blinds.
• Work part-time, Saturdays and Sundays, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM.
