Job summary

The Location and Environment Bureau within the State of Iowa seeks a part-time student intern to assist with regulatory and environmental review activities for transportation projects. You will support the Regulated Materials Program Manager with site research, reviews, GIS analysis, data entry, and administrative tasks.

Ideal candidates are pursuing degrees in planning, environmental sciences, emergency management, or related fields and will gain hands-on experience balancing project delivery

Qualifications

Undergraduate or graduate student in planning, natural resources, environmental sciences, emergency management, environmental policy, occupational safety, or related field.
Experience with GIS and data management is a plus.
Strong organizational and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

Conduct project site research and assist with preliminary project reviews.
Support environmental planning activities and GIS analyses.
Enter data and perform project-related administrative tasks.
Assist the Regulated Materials Program Manager with day-to-day duties.
