The University of Washington Seattle invites applications for Part Time Lecturers in the English Department for the 2026-2027 academic year. Positions are non-tenure eligible with a 9-month service period (Sept 16–June 15) and a 50% FTE appointment, starting Sept 16, 2026.

Offers depend on program need and funding; potential to add courses later. Duties include teaching courses in the Program in Writing & Rhetoric (PWR), PWAC, upper-division English literature/language, and/or creative writing.

Qualifications

• Eligible with terminal degree by end of Summer 2026.
• Priority for full year offers given to those who have completed their Ph.D. by Spring 2026.
• Ability to teach in the Program in Writing & Rhetoric (PWR) and related programs.

Responsibilities

• Teach courses in the Program in Writing & Rhetoric (PWR), PWAC, and upper-division English.
• Teach literature, language, and/or creative writing courses as assigned.
