Job summary

The University of New Mexico Gallup Branch is seeking qualified adjunct faculty to teach lower-division courses in English (1000/2000 level) for Spring, Summer, and Fall 2026, in face-to-face and online formats. Instructors are responsible for delivery, assignment development, grading, and assessment as outlined by the Liberal Arts & Education Division; positions depend on enrollment and course offerings.

Master’s degree required; Doctorate preferred; minimum 3 years teaching; commitment to NM

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in English or a related field is required.
• Comfort teaching face-to-face and/or online lower-division courses (1000/2000 level).
• Candidates should meet the minimum qualifications by the start of Spring 2026.

Responsibilities

• Teach assigned lower-division courses each semester, in line with the schedule.
• Deliver content, develop assignments, grade work, and report grades to the division chair.
• Assess student learning and contribute to program quality.
