Job summary

University of California, Riverside Extension is seeking part-time instructors to teach XR courses for adult learners. XR courses are 10-12 weeks, in-person or online, with evening or weekend scheduling.

The role requires advanced engineering credentials and at least five years of industry experience. Courses are taught by approved faculty and may involve teaching abroad partnerships. Fall 2026 start.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Five years of related work experience.
• Excellent verbal, written communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Ability to provide instruction in-person and online.
• Authorization to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction per instructional agreement, curriculum outlines, and class schedule.
• Communicate learning objectives and grading policies to students.
• Work with partners and subject matter experts to keep course information current.
• Participate in orientations, meetings, and mandatory training by UCR deadlines.
• Maintain academic records in the LMS and submit grades on time.
• Maintain professional conduct and follow the Instructor Manual.
• Complete administrative tasks: hiring paperwork, syllabi, contracts, textbook orders, AV needs.
• Employ culturally competent teaching methodologies in the classroom.
