Job summary

Fastenal Co. in Medina, OH is seeking a Part-time Engineer Support to assist the engineering team and customers.

You will participate in lab testing, print reviews, and development of technical resources, with a potential flexible schedule after onboarding and performance goals. The role requires a degree in Engineering or Materials Science or relevant experience, strong communication and MS Office skills, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Qualifications

• 18 years of age or older
• Possess a current full valid driver's license and ability to meet driving record requirements
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Materials Science or related field OR equivalent fastener industry experience
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Proficient using Microsoft Office Suite
• Strong math aptitude, attention to detail and sense of urgency
• Strong organization, planning and prioritizing abilities
• Strong problem solving and deductive reasoning
• Ability to learn and perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to work independently and in a team
• Demonstrate Fastenal core values: ambition, innovation, integrity and teamwork
• Physical ability to lift/carry 25–50 lbs, up to 75 lbs with assistance
• Pass drug screen (US/PR/Guam) and background check whenever required

Responsibilities

• Provide technical assistance to branches and customers
• Review customer prints and standards
• Support lab testing for standard and customer-specific testing
• Create technical resources and calculators to support technical teams
• Identify cost savings and consolidation opportunities for customers
