Job description

Job Summary

The Yuba Community College District is seeking qualified candidates for a part‑time, temporary (Adjunct) faculty position – Part Time - EMT Instructor – at Lake County Campus, Clear Lake, CA. The adjunct faculty pool is open continuously and refreshed every two years. Applicants in the pool remain active for two years; after that they will receive an email with information on how to remain in the pool.

  • Applicants may be contacted and hired year‑round based on the college's needs.
  • The District retains the right to extend time limits or initiate the recruitment/selection process anew at any stage.
  • Applicants must be free of active tuberculosis, determined by a TB examination within the past sixty (60) days.
  • Applicants must provide fingerprints to the local police department; fees for DOJ and FBI fingerprint reports are the employee's responsibility.
  • Fingerprint clearance must be received prior to the employee’s first day on the job.

  • Use appropriate teaching methods to facilitate student learning.
  • Teach day, evening, and/or weekend assignments, which may include distance learning (interactive television, online) and accelerated courses.
  • Assess Student Learning Outcomes every semester.
  • Participate in department, division, and college-wide initiatives and committees if desired.
  • Provide timely feedback to students and post grades regularly.
  • Respond to student communication in a timely manner.
Required Duties

Demonstrate sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.

Required Qualifications

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree and at least two years of experience in emergency medical technology, plus any certificates or licenses required.
  • OR an Associate’s degree and at least six years of experience in emergency medical technology, plus any certificates or licenses required.
