Veterinary Emergency Group (VEG) is hiring a part-time Emergency Veterinary Assistant in Ardmore, PA. You’ll support a fast-paced team, help triage patients, and assist with treatments and diagnostics while learning on the job.

This role offers growth toward credentialed technician paths and ongoing mentorship from clinicians. As you begin, you’ll work closely with credentialed technicians and veterinarians, gain anesthesia support experience, and participate in guided training programs.

Competenze

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Enrolled in AVMA-accredited veterinary technology program is a plus.
• 1+ years in a veterinary assistant role (emergency or specialty experience a bonus).
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with practice management software and EMR.
• Excellent communicator with pet parents and your team.
• Fine motor skills for handling patients and medical equipment.
• Able to stand for prolonged hours and lift up to 25 kg (with assistance as needed).
• Willing to work nights, weekends, and holidays.

Mansioni

• Triages incoming patients and guides them toward care.
• Assist with treatments, nursing care, and diagnostics (bloodwork, imaging, catheters).
• Work with veterinary techs and veterinarians on anesthesia and sedation.
• Set up and monitor IV fluids, transfusions, and medications.
• Support care in outpatient or inpatient settings from exam room to treatment area.
• Join rounds and maintain continuity of care.
• Learn CPR and RECOVER Certification (training provided).
• Grow into advanced roles through guided training pathways.
