Job summary

Hennepin Technical College seeks an Emergency Services Adjunct Faculty to provide hands-on, career-focused instruction in EMT, EMS, and related public safety programs. You will develop lectures, simulations, and labs aligned with industry standards, while supporting student success and preparing learners for state certifications.

The role emphasizes safety, collaboration with partners, and adherence to curriculum, accreditation standards, and program outcomes in a flexible, part-time teaching

Qualifications

  • Two full-time years (or equivalent) of verified related paid work experience in pre-hospital or emergency care settings.
  • One year of this work experience shall be within the five years immediately preceding the date of application for the credential field.
  • Current Minnesota certification, registration, or licensure as an EMT, paramedic, physician, physician's assistant, or registered nurse.
  • Preferred: previous teaching, training, or instructional experience in higher education, technical education, or workforce training.

Responsibilities

  • Teach assigned courses in accordance with approved curriculum, accreditation standards, and learning outcomes.
  • Develop lectures, simulations, labs, and other instructional activities; prepare syllabi and assessments.
  • Maintain accurate records and provide timely feedback, grades, and student support.
  • Collaborate with program faculty and industry partners to ensure program quality and workforce alignment.
