Carson City Sheriff's Office in Carson City, NV is seeking a part-time dispatcher to connect the public with law enforcement, fire/rescue, and EMS. The role involves handling emergency and non-emergency calls, data entry, and staying calm under pressure.

Under supervision, you will train daily; after training, typical hours are Tue–Fri, 11:00–16:00, with potential shift changes. Certifications must be obtained within specified timeframes.

Formación

• Equivalent to high school diploma or GED; AND one year of call taking or customer service experience.
• Must obtain Emergency Medical Dispatch, NCIC/NCJIS, and CPR certifications within specified timeframes.
• Typing speed minimum 35 wpm and ability to work under pressure.
• Willingness to work varied shifts; training includes daily observation and testing.

Responsabilidades

• Receive and process emergency and non-emergency calls; determine priority and responder safety info.
• Enter incident details into the computer system accurately and update events as needed.
• Transfer calls to appropriate agencies and perform records checks.
• Document officer information and verify warrants; communicate updates to personnel.
• Maintain logs and perform general clerical work; stay current with policies.
