Job summary

DeKalb County School District is seeking a part-time EIP Teacher at Midvale Elementary to deliver high-quality instruction and promote academic achievement. The role requires collaboration with team members and strong written and verbal communication to engage students, families, and staff.

The position entails planning and delivering instruction, using both in-person and virtual platforms, and meeting state and district standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from a Georgia PSC-approved college/university in the relevant educational field.
• Valid PSC teaching certificate in the appropriate field.
• Special Education certification alignment and related certifications required.
• ESOL & Gifted endorsements required.
• CTAE certifications, GACE Ethics, and licensure requirements met.

Responsibilities

• Teaches grade-relevant, subject matter-specific, and mandated curriculum.
• Develops and implements lesson plans and activities through in-person and virtual learning.
• Communicates by phone, email, or video conferencing with district personnel, students, and parents.
• Creates an in-person and virtual classroom environment conducive to learning.
• Uses internet and web-based technology to provide instruction and collaboration with students.
• Assesses, documents, and prepares reports on achievement, progress, and attendance.
• Supervises and manages student behavior per the Student Code of Conduct.
• Participates in conferences with parents, students, counselors, teachers, principals, and administrators.
• Performs general duties such as ordering materials, attending meetings, and attending professional development.
• Directs paraprofessional or instructional aide when needed.
• Maintains punctual attendance.
• Special Education duties: case management, IEP development and progress reporting, collaboration with general education staff, development of SDI and BIPs, data collection and reporting.
