Job summary

Brightmont Academy in Raleigh is seeking a Part-Time Elementary Teacher to deliver one-to-one instruction with a flexible schedule. The role emphasizes personalized learning, focusing on student progress without the burden of lesson planning or outside work.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's Degree, is proficient with G-Suite and an LMS, and can obtain required background clearances. Prior 1:1 teaching experience is a plus and meets Brightmont’s student-centered approach.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in subject area (English, Social Studies, History, Government, Economics, or related field).
• Patience & empathy: support diverse learners and adapt to individual needs.
• Heart for teaching: passion to share your subject with students.
• Proficiency using G-Suite and LMS.
• Ability to provide fingerprints and pass a federal background check.

Responsibilities

• Teach students one-on-one, tailoring lessons to each learner's needs.
• Guide students to mastery with a gradual release approach.
• Avoid lesson planning or outside work; focus on engaging, kid-centered instruction.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's Degree in your subject area (English, Social Studies, History, Government, Economics—anything that fuels your passion!).

• A teaching certification - nice to have, but not required!
• Advanced degree in a specific subject area of expertise.
