Job summary

Montgomery County Public Schools seeks a Special Education teacher to provide direct instruction and instructional support to students with disabilities. The role involves collaboration with the general education teacher and monitoring student outcomes under an IEP framework.

You will participate in development of IEPs, attend required meetings, and support behavioral interventions within MCPS guidelines. This is a 1.0 FTE position spanning two elementary schools in Germantown.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in special education and SPC I certification required.
• Experience with IEP development and behavior management preferred.
• Strong knowledge of ESSA/IDEA standards and MTSS processes.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct instruction to students with disabilities.
• Collaborate with general education teachers to support inclusion.
• Monitor and evaluate progress of students with disabilities.
• Assist in development and implementation of IEPs.
• Attend meetings and activities outside instructional day as required.
• Support behavioral interventions as needed.
