Job summary

KIPP Philadelphia Public Schools is seeking a part-time Elementary Recess Aide to provide a safe, joyful supervision during outdoor or indoor recess at our Philadelphia schools.

Hours typically range mid-morning to afternoon (about 20 hours/week), with start date immediate. Applicants should enjoy working with children and have experience in school, daycare, or enrichment settings. Background checks are required, including PA State Police and PA Child Abuse clearances.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children in school, childcare, or enrichment settings.
• Experience engaging with children and supporting positive behavior in group settings.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality supervision of children, including but not limited to:
• Uphold and reinforce schoolwide behavior systems.
• Positively redirect students who are struggling to meet behavior expectations.
• Create opportunities for collaborative play (organizing or facilitating games) while maintaining supervision of the whole group.
• Ensure children are able to enjoy a recess free from bullying.
• Communicate with school-based staff regarding any student concerns or recess needs.
• Bring out play equipment and ensure the play yard is tidied up after recess.
• Other relevant duties as assigned by the School Principal.
