Job summary

East Elementary School in Cedar City, UT is seeking a Part Time Music Prep Paraprofessional to work 22 hours per week.

This position will remain open until filled and supports the music program for grades K-5 under the supervision of the Principal. Responsibilities include assisting in music instruction, coordinating with staff for events, and maintaining instruments and equipment. Basic computer skills (Google Docs, email) and willingness to learn district systems are required.

Qualifications

• Provides instructional support assistance to students and student groups.
• Maintains care/responsibility for school-owned music, musical instruments and equipment to prevent loss or abuse.
• Must have basic computer knowledge, be familiar with Google docs and check email frequently.

Responsibilities

• Teaches skills in music understanding/appreciation, harmony, explorations in music and choral music to elementary pupils.
• Plans/executes a balanced music program and organizes class time so that preparation, rehearsal and instruction can be accomplished within the allotted time.
• Coordinates with School Principal and staff in providing musical programs for school assemblies, open house, parent meetings, and seasonal programs.
• Provides individual and small group instruction to adapt the music curriculum to the needs of each pupil.
