ROCKFORD BOARD OF EDUCATION is seeking an Elementary Library Paraprofessional for the 2026-2027 school year. This part-time role supports the library, assists with circulation, shelving, and reader aloud sessions, and helps identify resources for students and teachers.

The paraprofessional will work under the supervision of the Principal and Library Media Specialist, performing clerical tasks, maintaining the collection, and contributing to a welcoming library environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum requirements include 60 college credits or an associate degree or valid ParaPro etc.
• Ability to shelve materials, manage inventory, and support classroom instruction.
• Experience with library circulation and reporting processes is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Maintain library collections and energy in classroom instruction.
• Perform circulation duties and keep accurate records.
• Assist students and staff with locating resources and using Destiny Library System.
• Read aloud to classes and support reading initiatives.
• Prepare reports and organize library materials and inventory.
