Job summary

Navy Exchange Service Command in San Diego's North Island Main Store Electronics Department is seeking a Sales Associate to work part-time (20–34.5 hours). You will be the face of our brand, assist customers, and help them recognize the value of our products with a professional, educational approach.

The role covers customer service, sales, inventory, and merchandising. No prior experience required; training is provided and a strong emphasis on customer satisfaction is expected.

Qualifications

• Product knowledge: Basic knowledge of products/merchandise.
• Experience: Retail experience preferred but not required.
• Communication Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to read, write and interpret documents such as safety rules and manuals.
• Mathematical Skills: Basic math functions such as addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
• Reasoning Ability: Ability to multi-task, work in a team, and take initiative without supervision.

Responsibilities

• Proactively engage and connect with customers.
• Maintain store appearance and organization.
• Cross-sell products and upsell based on customer needs and promotions.
• Learn product features and use POS tools to provide product knowledge.
• Be the keeper of merchandise and complete inventory-related tasks.
