Job summary

Newport Meadows Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Lancaster County is seeking a Part-Time Activities Assistant. You will organize and lead group and individual activities such as exercise, trivia, games, and art to enhance residents' lives.

The ideal candidate has a passion for working with the elderly, a positive outlook, and flexibility to handle outings and varying schedules. Prior geriatric experience is preferred, and bilingual skills are a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous experience with geriatric population preferred, but we will train the right candidate.
• Bilingual speaking is a plus.
• Ability to meet physical demands of the job, including lifting and transferring residents.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate group and individual activities, including exercise, trivia, games, and art, to promote resident engagement and well-being.
• Encourage and assist residents to participate in activities that align with their interests and abilities.
• Work independently with limited supervision at times and effectively as a team member.
• Escort residents on outings as needed.
• Demonstrate professionalism and respect towards residents, considering their specific clinical level of function.
• Maintain accurate records of resident participation and activity planning.
