Job summary

Right At School is seeking a Part-Time Educator for after-school programs in El Segundo, CA. Responsibilities include delivering engaging curricula, organizing materials, and supporting homework in a safe environment.

Must have 1+ year youth experience, be able to work 2:30 pm–6:00 pm, and complete LIVE Scan fingerprinting and health certificates. Compensation ranges $19–$21 per hour, based on experience.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience with youth ages 12-14 in a school or group setting.
• Complete LIVE Scan fingerprint and provide Health Certificate with a TB test.
• 18+ years of age; High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to lift 40 lbs.
• Strong customer service and teamwork skills.
• CPR/FA certification and Mandated Reporter training as required.

Responsibilities

• Organize program materials for lessons and track attendance.
• Deliver dynamic daily curriculum to engage children academically and socially.
• Model positive guidance and maintain safety and well-being.
• Support homework completion and lead fitness activities.
• Maintain clear communication with children, parents, staff, and school personnel.
• Meet regularly with the Program Manager for progress and accountability.

Educator: Part-Time After-School Staff, We Call Our Educators

Schedule: Part-time schedule working typically 2:30 pm-6:00 pm (may vary slightly) Monday-Friday (must be able to work Monday through Friday)

Location: Inside Wiseburn Schools

Requirements: Complete a new LIVE Scan fingerprint and provide or obtain a completed Health Certificate with a Negative TB Test from a physician, 18+ years of age, High School Diploma or equivalent

Experience: 1+ years of experience with youth ages 12 years-14 years in a school or group setting

Pay Range: $19.00-$21.00 per hour (depending on years of experience in youth childcare in a school or group setting)

You'll drive the mission by:

• Organize program materials for lessons and activities, as well as document attendance, incidents and other observation
• Deliver our dynamic daily curriculum to engage children in academic and social character-building that expands school day learning in a meaningful way
• Using your coursework training and our in-person training, model positive guidance and effective classroom management to maintain the safety, well-being and attention of all children while supporting homework completion, leading fun fitness activities, and guiding children at play
• Excellent communication skills with varied audience including children, parents, staff and school personnel
• Model positive guidance and effective classroom management to maintain the safety and well-being and attention of all children
• Meets regularly with the Program Manager regarding professional progress and team accountability
