Job summary

Right At School is seeking an Educator to support our after-school program in Massachusetts. You will organize and deliver age-appropriate activities, supervise children, and maintain a safe, engaging environment while aligning with program goals.

Ideal candidates have 1+ year experience with children, state-required certifications (First Aid/CPR, TB test, MMR), and a passion for helping kids learn through fun, structured activities.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of experience working with children under 13.
• Massachusetts state requirements completed (First Aid/CPR, TB test, MMR).
• 18+ years of age and education credentials.

Responsibilities

• Review goals and updates with the daily program team and encourage collaboration.
• Develop and lead structured daily activities aligned with program objectives.

Educator

Right At School provides local school districts before and after school extended day programs with a focus on disguised learning activities and daily enrichment dedicated to the success of all students!

Educator Pay Rate: $16.00-$19.00 per hour (based on education and experience)

Program Hours: Monday - Friday 3:30 PM - 6:00 PM

You'll drive the mission by:

• Daily Program Meetings: Each day, review goals and updates, share ideas, discuss professional progress, encourage collaboration, and team accountability.
• Organize and Facilitate Daily Activities: Prepare activities and curriculum for the day, ensuring they align with the program's objectives. Organize and lead structured daily fitness, activities, and curriculum; that are both educational and enjoyable for all ages.
• Leading by Example: Maintain a safe and nurturing environment, ensuring children are enjoying themselves while also meeting program goals. You will achieve this by modeling positive guidance and effective classroom management.
• Prioritize Safety and Joy: Monitor the environment, address potential hazards, and follow all safety protocols. These may include documenting attendance, incidents, and other observations.
• Communication: Effective communication with a varied audience, including children, parents, staff, and school personnel.

Ideal Candidates will have the following:

• Outstanding customer service and relationship-building skills
• Works well in a team environment
• At least 1 year of experience working with children under 13 years of age Ability to lift 25lbs
• Drive to inspire a love for learning and commitment to healthy living
• Flexibility to support additional local programs as needed
• Ability to meet state-specific requirements; Massachusetts Requirements:
• First Aid and CPR-in-person
• Cleared tuberculosis test
• Proof of MMR
• 18+ years of age
• Have a Bachelor's Degree or an Associate's Degree; and have 3 months of experience working with school age children;

OR

• Have a high school diploma or equivalent; and have 6 months of experience working with school age children including age children including 3 months of supervised experience at a school age child care program;

OR

• Have nine months of experience with school age children including 3 months of supervised experience at a school age child care program
