Job summary

A sign language interpretation service is seeking a part-time educational interpreter to provide communication access for Deaf/HOH students in Charlotte, NC. The role requires at least 1 year of experience and a Bachelor's degree in sign language interpreting. Candidates should have excellent ASL/English skills and be familiar with the IEP process. Responsibilities
  • As a part-time/substitute educational sign language interpreter, you will provide communication access to Dead/HOH students in the classroom, at extracurricular activities, and during other school-related events.
  • You will work closely with teachers, administrators, and parents to ensure that all students have the opportunity to succeed.
  • Be familiar with the NC Individualized Education Program (IEP) process and be able to interpret IEP meetings and other related meetings.
  • Create and maintain a positive and supportive learning environment for all students.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all student information.
  • Other duties assigned.
