Bethel School District is seeking a dedicated Educational Assistant to provide 5.0-hour Comprehensive Student Support at Malabon Elementary School in Eugene, Oregon.

The role focuses on instructional, behavioral, social-emotional, and physical support for students with a range of needs, within general and special education settings, aligned with inclusive practices and district professional development.

Qualifications

• Understanding of inclusive education principles and a commitment to equity.
• Knowledge of educational strategies, behavior supports, and developmental needs.
• Ability to assist with instruction and implement individualized supports.
• Willingness to learn and apply safe health and hygiene practices.
• Capacity to use trauma-informed and restorative practices.
• Ability to observe and respond appropriately to student behaviors and social emotional needs.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and follow legal and ethical standards.
• Flexibility and composure in fast-paced and changing environments.
• Ability to maintain regular and predictable attendance.
• Ability to learn safe lifting and proper physical positioning techniques to place students in desks or in passenger vehicles, as required.
• Ability to safely operate standard office and audio-visual equipment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with instructional activities and reinforce learning.
• Support students with academic, functional, communication, and social-emotional skills.
• Assist with BSPs and implement IEP-based supports.
• Provide emotional and behavioral regulation support.
• Collaborate with licensed staff and school teams to support inclusion.
• Participate in planning, rounds, and debriefs focused on progress and inclusion.
