Ashland School District 5 is seeking an Educational Assistant to support middle school students in small groups and one-on-one settings at Willow Wind Community Learning Center. This 0.15 FTE position involves instructional support, record keeping, and supervision under close supervision.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school or one to two years' related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Interpersonal skills: works well with others, maintains confidentiality and positive teamwork.
• Language Skills: ability to communicate fluently in English, read and interpret basic documents.
• Mathematical Skills: basic arithmetic including rates and percentages.
• Reasoning Ability: follow instructions and handle multiple variables.
• Computer Skills: basic computer skills, email, and word processing.
• Other Skills: good judgment and communication with students, staff and community.
• Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: CPR/First Aid and district requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assist students individually or in small groups with lesson assignments (reading, math and writing) and record keeping.
• Supervise students in classrooms, playgrounds, bus duty and meal times.
• Help develop educational materials and organize classroom resources.
• Follow the daily schedule and assist with communication with parents/guardians.
• Maintain confidential records and assist with paperwork as directed.
• Attend team meetings and participate as a collaborative team member.
