JOB DESCRIPTION AND REQUIREMENTS:

The Pennsylvania State University seeks to hire a part-time Educational Program Specialist to support education abroad programs for summer customized programs.

This role involves assisting the faculty/program leader of a Penn State Education Abroad program and serving as an official representative of Penn State during the program. Responsibilities include recruiting students, accompanying students abroad, communicating with students, delivering pre-departure orientations, and supporting faculty in managing student conduct and adhering to Penn State's Risk Management policies.

Some Program Assistants may also take on teaching and budget responsibilities. Programs last from two to ten weeks and involve groups of 8 to 40 students. Training in risk management and budget management will be provided; optional training on student conduct is available. Program Assistants are expected to uphold Penn State's policies abroad and enforce them. Familiarity with the destination and foreign language skills are preferred.
