Job summary

Lanier Technical College is seeking an adjunct Economics Instructor to teach assigned courses at multiple campus locations. The position is part-time, non-benefits eligible, and exempt from overtime; compensation is a lump sum based on contact hours.

Reports to the Associate Dean of General Education, and requires a master’s degree in Economics with relevant coursework. Background check is part of the process.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Economics or Master’s with 18 graduate hours in Economics from a regionally accredited college.
• Must work well in the classroom and in supervising diverse students.

• Knowledge of vocational area of assignment
• Skill in presenting subject matter
• Skill in administering tests to evaluate progress
• Skill in the use of computers and job-related software programs

Responsibilities

• Provides professional instruction based on approved course syllabus; ensures course outcomes meet objectives.
• Prepares curriculum and syllabus for coursework taught.
• Evaluates students’ progress in attaining goals and objectives.
• Administers and grades class examinations.
• Maintains records of student grades.
• Attends in-service training, workshops and seminars as needed.
• Ensures safety and security requirements are met in the training areas.
• Meets deadlines assigned by Supervisor.
• Meets with students and staff as needed.
