Milwaukee Area Technical College (MATC) in West Allis is seeking a part-time Specialist, Child Care, to support the Child Care Center by designing age-appropriate activities for infants to preschoolers and guiding practicum students.

Working up to 19 hours weekly during the academic year, this role requires collaboration, adherence to safety standards, and ongoing professional development to align with MATC’s commitment to inclusive, quality early childhood education.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education or 60 credits with 6 ECE credits; 1–3 years of childcare experience.
• CPR/AED/First Aid certification within six months of hire; Abusive Head Trauma/Shaken Baby Prevention and Mandated Reporter Training before hire or at orientation.
• Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education preferred (additional coursework in Infant & Toddler care).

Responsibilities

• Oversee childcare room activities and plan age-appropriate engagements for infants to preschoolers.
• Interact with children, respond to needs, and monitor signs of stress or development concerns.
• Maintain room setup and manage supplies including snacks and toys.
• Maintain records and assist with outreach; track development and inform parents biannually.
• Maintain confidentiality and collaborate with staff and practicum students.
• Engage in continuous learning and participate in staff trainings.
