Job summary

YMCA of Catawba Valley in Conover, North Carolina, is seeking a Part-Time Early Childhood Floater to support preschool classrooms and align with YMCA values. Schedule: 12:30pm–6:00pm, with duties across birth-5 years and substitutions as needed.

You will assist Lead Teachers, help with meals, and help maintain a safe, inclusive environment. Requirements include being at least 18, a HS diploma or GED, reliable transportation, strong communication, and the ability to pass a background check.

Responsibilities

• Assist Lead Teachers and Teachers in their classrooms.
• Assist with cooking, prepping and serving meals.
• Giving Lead Teachers and Teachers breaks and lunch breaks.
• Caring for children ranging in ages from birth-5 years.
• Bending and lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Filling in for Lead Teachers and Teachers in their absence.
• All YMCA staff are responsible for creating a safe, inclusive environment. This includes following all YMCA policies and procedures related to abuse prevention, reporting concerns or incidents immediately, and maintaining appropriate boundaries with youth and members.
